Job summary

MACOM in Nashua, NH seeks a Product Engineer II to drive RF/microwave module projects from development through production. You will perform RF/DC characterization, develop production tests, and work with cross-functional teams to ensure robust manufacturing releases.

The role emphasizes data analysis, test method improvements, and collaboration with Design, Test, Manufacturing, and Quality to optimize yield and performance in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related field.
  • Typically two or more years of RF engineering experience.
  • Working knowledge of RF and microwave concepts and measurements.
  • Hands-on experience with RF instruments such as VNAs, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, and power meters.
  • Experience analyzing engineering or manufacturing data using statistics.
  • Ability to interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, assembly documentation, and test requirements.
  • Experience troubleshooting electronic hardware and test setups.
  • Ability to create clear test procedures, technical reports, and engineering documentation.
  • Ability to manage multiple technical activities and communicate across disciplines.

Responsibilities

  • Support and own transition of new RF/microwave/millimeter-wave modules from engineering to manufacturing.
  • Develop production test plans based on requirements, risk, and performance.
  • Perform RF and DC characterization across frequency, temperature, power, bias, and operating modes.
  • Design, analyze, and debug RF test boards, fixtures, and interface hardware.
  • Collaborate with Test Engineering to deploy automated production test solutions.
  • Establish correlations between bench characterization, automated tests, and product specs.
  • Analyze characterization and production data using appropriate statistical methods.
  • Recommend test limits to balance screening and yield.
  • Monitor yield and test performance, investigate abnormal trends, and lead investigations.
  • Perform root-cause analysis of electrical failures, test-system issues, and assembly defects.
  • Support failure analysis and product qualification with Quality/Reliability Engineering.
  • Ensure test hardware, software, procedures, BOMs, drawings, and instructions are production-ready.
  • Review and approve test data and engineering results in assigned areas.
  • Provide guidance to manufacturing on test procedures and troubleshooting.
  • Improve test accuracy, throughput, and cost; develop automation when beneficial.
