Tycho.AI is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our hardware team in Cambridge, MA, focusing on board development and RF integration for autonomous air vehicles. You will take concepts through prototype and production, shaping electrical architecture and PCB layouts.

The role is hands-on, requiring component selection, layout, testing, and RF analysis to meet mission needs. Collaboration with a fast-paced startup team is expected, with opportunities for growth and meaningful impact.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 3+ years of relevant experience in electrical design, prototyping, and manufacturing.
• Experience with Altium.
• Working knowledge of RF hardware: radios, software-defined radios, antennas, amplifiers, etc.
• Experience with UAS-relevant radios - RFD, Microhard, Silvus, or similar.
• Willingness to perform field testing of RF components.

Responsibilities

• Select components based on mission, electrical, thermal, and mechanical needs.
• Design electrical board assemblies.
• Perform board layout, sourcing and purchasing, programming, testing, and debug.
• Perform RF link budget and bandwidth analyses based on mission needs.
• Select components and design RF chain.
• Implement encoding and compression algorithms.
