Our aircraft already delivers roughly 3-4x the flight endurance of conventional drones in its class. Now we want to bring that same level of engineering to RF and communications.
We are looking for an RF & Electrical Systems Engineer with exceptional electrical engineering ability, strong RF depth, and a genuine passion for hardware design.
You will own systems from architecture through schematic design, PCB layout, bring-up, integration, flight testing, and production.
Responsibilities
- Own command-and-control, telemetry, video, and payload-data communication systems across our UAV platforms
- Develop RF architectures, link budgets, antenna configurations, and wireless system designs
- Select and integrate radios, antennas, filters, amplifiers, and supporting RF hardware
- Design electronic hardware from concept through production, including schematic capture, component selection, PCB layout, board bring-up, validation, and debugging
- Develop mixed-signal, digital, power, communications, and interface circuitry
- Integrate processors, radios, sensors, cameras, power electronics, and other electronic subsystems
- Design and troubleshoot UART, CAN, Ethernet, USB, SPI, I2C, and other embedded interfaces
- Conduct antenna characterization, range testing, interference analysis, and system-performance validation
- Diagnose signal-integrity, power-integrity, grounding, EMI/EMC, and RF-coexistence issues
- Support FCC certification, EMI/EMC testing, and regulatory compliance
- Develop test fixtures and engineering tools for development and production
- Work directly with component, PCB, radio, antenna, and electronics vendors
- Support hardware through flight testing, design iteration, production release, and manufacturing
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline
- Strong experience designing, bringing up, and debugging electronic hardware
- Proficiency with Altium Designer, including schematic capture and PCB layout
- Strong analog, digital, power, and RF engineering fundamentals
- Experience with antennas, RF propagation, impedance matching, link budgets, and wireless communication systems
- Hands-on experience with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, spectrum analyzers, VNAs, signal generators, and related laboratory equipment
- Familiarity with embedded interfaces and networking, including UART, CAN, SPI, I2C, USB, Ethernet, TCP/IP, and UDP
- Ability to independently troubleshoot complex electrical and RF problems at both the board and system level
Preferred Qualifications
- M.S. or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, RF Engineering, or a related discipline
- Experience with UAVs, aerospace, robotics, or other size-, weight-, and power-constrained systems
- Experience designing RF PCBs, controlled-impedance layouts, antenna interfaces, filters, or RF front ends
- Experience with embedded processors, Linux, PX4, MAVLink, or UAV avionics
- Experience with battery-powered systems, DC/DC converters, or power electronics
- Experience with signal integrity, power integrity, grounding, shielding, and EMI/EMC
- Familiarity with FCC certification, FAA Remote ID, or other wireless regulatory requirements
- Experience taking electronic hardware through DFM, DFT, production release, and manufacturing
- FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate, or willingness to obtain one
