Qualifications

Airbus US Manufacturing Facility is looking for a X-Plant Electrical Assembler to join our X-Plant department based in Mobile, AL

Mobile FAL which includes but is not limited to Outstanding Work from Europe Plant Partners, Non-Conformities and snag sheets raised during standard FAL activities, Customer findings recorded in Quality Log Book, and Technical Log Book write ups during Flight Line and Delivery Phases. High level of skill and flexibility required to ensure FAL and Flight Line milestones are achieved while operating with the highest degree of safety, quality, cost, and adherence to schedule. Expected to work across multiple competencies in order to provide superior support to Mobile FAL and Flight Line Operations .

Nearby on 'Airbus Way' you will find the Airbus U.S. Manufacturing Facility for commercial aircraft. Opened at the Mobile Aeroplex at Brookley in 2015, the facility produces A320 Family aircraft and added a second product line for the A220 in 2019. The facility, which strengthens the U.S. aerospace industry, is part of Airbus' strategy to enhance its global competitiveness by meeting the growing needs of its customers in the United States and beyond.

Your challenges:

  • Knowledge of hand, power tools, Cutting Tools, Related to airbus manufacturing.

  • Willingness to learn and cross-skill within multiple functions and competencies.

  • Ability to work across different teams to coordinate and complete activities.

  • Demonstrated ability to problem solve.

  • Knowledge of station safety, quality, FOD, and OSHA regulations.

  • Able to enter, generate, and Retrieve information using a computer or tablet (SAP and Excel Knowledge preferred)

Your boarding pass:

  • Required: High school Diploma or GED

  • Training from a vocational school or previous employer in the use of application tolls and in application techniques.

  • 2+ Years hands-on experience in aviation with repair work.

  • Outputs: Assembly ready for integration or assembly integrated with associated production documentation in the product.

  • Perform basic electrical tests (continuity, bonding, insulation, DC high voltage.

Physical Requirements:

  • Vision: Adequate to enter and read material on computer screens. Able to identify markings and digital outputs on calibrated tools. Able to read drawings and measurement tools for precision work on aircraft.

  • Hearing: Sufficiently to engage in conversation in shop and production setting. Able to hear safety alerts and warning signals.

  • Speaking: Able to engage in conversations in person and via electronic means and deliver information to groups of varying size with or without amplification.

  • Equipment Operation: Able to operate a wide range of tools and equipment including hydraulic lifts and arms.

  • Carrying: Occasionally carry up to 30lbs/12kg while engaging in aircraft activities.

  • Lifting: Occasionally lift up to 60lbs/27kg.

  • Pushing/Pulling: Able to push/pull items in aircraft and on shop floor.

  • Sitting: Able to sit for extended periods of time at work benches or on aircraft.

  • Squatting/Kneeling: Able to occasionally squat or kneel to work in confined areas such as Cargo Holds and Wing Tanks.

  • Standing: Able to stand for extended periods of time.

  • Travel/Mobility: Able to work outside hangers in changing locations. Able to work on movable lifts at the aircraft at a height of approximately 40 ft. Able to enter a wing tank through a 9.8 inch by 17.7 inch oval opening, while sometimes working in a ventilated fuel tank with a respirator in a confined space.

  • Walking: Able to walk through office and production areas, around flight line and airstrips and sometimes on uneven indoor or outdoor surfaces other business interactions.
