Take charge of our day-to-day operations, so we remain the trusted source for aviation repair and maintenance. Work with your team to implement the right processes and practices across our organization to help ensure flight and product efficiency.

As a Prep & Finish Technician, you’ll have the responsibility of fitting and assembling machined metal parts, verifying dimensions of products and manually aligning components for assembly.

What you’ll do:

  • Read and interpret specification manuals, blueprints, templates, and layouts for product specifications such as tooling instructions, tolerances and dimensions.
  • Translate instructions into actions.
  • Read and understand a router that details what needs to be completed on each part.
  • Fit and assemble machined metal parts and sub-assemblies using hand and power tools.
  • Manually align components for assembly and bolts, screws, dowels or rivets complex series of parts together.
  • Verify dimensions of products for accuracy and conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments.
  • Inspect quality and accuracy of run work.
  • Sets up and operate test equipment (e.g., pressure test).
  • Participate in continuous improvement of cell processes.
  • Cross train in other complementary skills and seek endorsement for those skills as needed to support production requirements.
  • Move between production assignments that utilize multiple skills endorsements as needed to support production requirements.
  • Participate in the cross training of other technicians as needed to support production requirements.
  • Responsible for observing all applicable safety requirements and reporting immediately any unsafe practices/conditions.
  • Carries out other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

  • Ability to read, understand, and interpret blueprints.
  • Ability in reading, understanding, and writing in English.
  • Experience in working with precision measuring instruments.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds (unassisted) for approximately 25% of the average work day.
  • Regularly required to sit for prolonged periods.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of related company instructions, company processes, rework process instructions, original equipment manufacturer manuals, and MSDS labels.
  • Working knowledge of production management computer systems and other related internal control systems.
  • Specialized training in machine shop practices.
