Job summary

Business Smart Solutions is seeking multiple Revenues Officers to join our resilience team on a permanent, full-time basis. Roles are offered on a remote basis, allowing flexible work across the United States.

You will determine Council Tax/Business Rates liability, apply discounts and exemptions, and explain decisions to the public by email, letter, and telephone. A minimum of 3 years of revenues experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Determine Council Tax/Business Rates liability in accordance with relevant primary legislation and case law
• Maintain knowledge of the Local Government Finance Act 1992 and case law
• Determine and award discounts and exemptions in accordance with primary legislation and case law
• Gather information, explain decisions, and provide advice to the public and their representatives by email, letter, and telephone regarding Council Tax liability
• Deal with all aspects of the collection and enforcement of Council Tax/Business Rates
