Role Summary

As the Revenue Analyst, you will support the hotel's Revenue Strategy function through performance analysis, market and demand research, distribution oversight, group block review, and reservations support. The position serves as an important connection between Revenue Strategy, Sales & Catering, Rooms, and Reservations, helping ensure that inventory, group blocks, reservation activity, billing requirements, and distribution channels are accurate and aligned.

The Revenue Analyst monitors hotel performance and external demand signals to identify need dates, changes in booking patterns, competitive activity, market opportunities, and potential risks, providing timely and actionable information to the Director of Revenue Strategy.

Working closely with the Sales & Catering Coordinator and Rooms Controller, the Revenue Analyst provides review and support of group and transient reservation activity to help ensure group blocks are established accurately, contractual and billing requirements are properly reflected, and inventory concerns are identified and addressed.

This role requires more than identifying and escalating an issue. The Revenue Analyst is expected to independently research questions and discrepancies, understand what occurred and why, provide relevant context and recommendations, and execute through resolution within established authority.

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
  • Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to interpret data, identify trends and discrepancies, and translate findings into actionable recommendations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and follow issues through resolution.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Hotel PMS, CRS, Sales & Catering, Revenue Management, distribution, and/or OTA platform experience preferred.
  • Previous hotel Revenue Management or Reservations experience required.
WHAT ARE THE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE?
Revenue Analysis & Distribution
  • Monitor pace, pickup, segmentation, booking patterns, competitive pricing, market activity, citywide events, and other demand indicators to identify need dates and revenue opportunities.
  • Prepare recurring Revenue reports and analysis, identify and communicate meaningful findings, and support execution and follow-up of Revenue strategies.
  • Participate in Revenue Strategy meetings and provide relevant analysis and findings.
  • Audit rates, availability, inventory controls, promotions, and rate parity across applicable distribution channels.
  • Complete monthly OTA reconciliation, research discrepancies, and coordinate resolution.
Group Block Oversight
  • Review group block files received from the Sales & Catering Coordinator to ensure rates, room types, inventory, cutoff dates, billing, and applicable contractual requirements are accurate before reservation execution.
  • Verify group billing accuracy, research discrepancies, and coordinate corrections.
  • Monitor group pickup and block utilization to identify groups approaching or exceeding approved inventory or not meeting contracted requirements, including potential attrition concerns.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for the Sales & Catering Coordinator and Rooms Controller when group block, billing, reservation, or inventory issues require research or resolution.
  • Attend and contribute to group resume meetings.
Reservations Support & Problem Resolution
  • Support group and transient reservations based on business needs and assist with reservation, rate, inventory, billing, and distribution inquiries.
  • Research issues to determine what occurred, provide relevant context, recommend appropriate next steps, and execute resolutions within established authority.
  • Escalate matters requiring pricing, inventory, contractual, or management decisions with the supporting research and recommendation already completed.
  • Maintain working knowledge of applicable Revenue Management, reservations, distribution, and partner systems and platforms.
  • Serve as backup support for Reservations/Rooms Controller as business needs require and maintain day-to-day Revenue functions within established authority in the absence of the Director of Revenue Strategy.
  • Perform other duties as assigned based on business needs or by management.
