Job summary

Confidential Careers is seeking a Staff Revenue Accountant to support revenue recognition under US GAAP ASC 606 and assist in monthly close. You will review contracts, process orders in NetSuite, and collaborate with Commercial, Legal, Services, and Accounting teams to maintain accurate revenue records.

The role requires 2–5 years in accounting or revenue operations, strong Excel and NetSuite skills, and experience with SaaS contracts.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related business discipline.
2–5 years of accounting, sales operations, order management, or revenue accounting experience.
Experience in a sales-driven software or SaaS organization preferred.
Knowledge of US GAAP and ASC 606 required.
Experience reviewing and entering orders for complex software contracts preferred.
Experience with monthly close activities, journal entries, reconciliations, and financial analysis preferred.

Responsibilities

Review and interpret customer contracts, order forms, statements of work to identify revenue recognition requirements.
Ensure sales orders, invoicing, and revenue recognition are recorded per policy, US GAAP, ASC 606.
Process customer orders in NetSuite accurately and timely, with month-end/quarter-end deadlines.
Partner with various teams to obtain required documentation and resolve issues.
Review project hours and milestones for services revenue recognition with Senior Revenue Accountants.
Perform month-end close activities including journal entries and reconciliations.
Process customer terminations, returns, and credit memos.
Validate balances for recognized, deferred, unbilled revenue and invoicing.
Respond to internal/external requests related to revenue, orders, contracts, invoices.
Assist with revenue-related information for annual audits.
Communicate issues and potential improvements to Revenue Accounting team.
Cross-train and provide backup support as needed.
Complete ad hoc accounting, reporting, and process improvement projects.
