Job summary

SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment is seeking a Revenue Recognition Accountant to join Corporate Finance. You will participate in day-to-day accounting functions and work with the Revenue Recognition Accounting Manager and Senior Accountant across the corporate office and parks.

This role focuses on deferred revenue and revenue recognition processes, including model preparation, journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting internal controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting is required.
• 2+ years of accounting experience.
• Knowledge of GAAP.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to build and maintain relationships across the organization.
• Ability to complete work independently and on time.
• Ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines in a team environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Prepare deferred revenue models and deferred revenue account reconciliations.
• Prepare journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Ensure internal controls for timely, accurate accounting and reporting.
• Provide assistance to other corporate finance / accounting functions such as financial reporting, budgeting, etc.
• Assist in the facilitation of audit processes.
• Special projects and other duties as assigned.
