Job summary

Texas Health & Human Services Commission (HHSC) is seeking a Program Specialist IV - Revenue Management in Austin, TX. The role focuses on complex Medicare/Medicaid reimbursement across 13 SSLCs and state facilities, ensuring accurate billing and revenue collection.

Responsibilities include developing reimbursement programs, training staff, and coordinating with HHSC and other agencies. Telework may be available; strong knowledge of federal/state billing rules is required.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations affecting charges for agency services.
• Knowledge of agency programs and Medicaid plans/programs.
• Experience with automated billing and third-party reimbursement systems.
• Ability to train others on billing and revenue processes.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan and direct MR Reimbursement program development and implementation.
• Review laws and regulations and interpret policies for SSLC reimbursement.
• Identify operational problems and coordinate with staff and management for resolution.
• Provide instruction and guidance on reimbursement processes.
• Serve as liaison with HHSC and other agencies to coordinate activities.
• Evaluate programs and procedures for effectiveness and report results.
• Prepare management reports and respond to issues.
• Analyze potential effects of legislation on agency operations.
