Job summary

Addison Group is seeking a detail-oriented Revenue Cycle Specialist in Chicago to manage medical billing and reimbursement for an outpatient setting. Responsibilities include insurance verification, claims submission, denial management, and AR follow-up, with NextGen/Waystar/Compulink experience preferred.

Benefits include medical, dental, vision, and a 401(k). This contract-to-hire role is fully onsite, with a Monday–Friday schedule.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in medical billing, reimbursement, or full-cycle revenue cycle management.
• Knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid/Commercial insurance and managed care billing processes.
• Experience with claims submission, verification, denial resolution, and AR follow-up.
• Familiarity with healthcare clearinghouses and electronic claim processing.
• Experience using EMR/EHR or revenue cycle management systems.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data reporting.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Oversee billing activities from insurance verification through claim resolution and reimbursement.
• Confirm patient insurance eligibility, benefits, and coverage requirements.
• Submit accurate claims and track status for timely payment.
• Research and resolve denials and discrepancies across plans.
• Use clearinghouses to identify errors and facilitate resubmissions.
• Follow up with insurers regarding unpaid claims.
• Monitor aging accounts and improve collection results.
• Generate reports and analyze billing data using Excel.
