Southcoast Health in New Bedford, MA is seeking a Front-End Revenue Cycle Specialist to support patient registration, insurance verification, and pre-registration. The role requires effective communication and teamwork to ensure accurate data and smooth financial processes.

This on-site position offers an evening/night shift with weekend/holiday rotation, a $8,000 sign-on bonus for new hires, and opportunities for professional growth within a values-driven organization that serves the community.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; Associate's degree preferred.
• Medical Terminology certificate preferred.
• Excellent communication & interpersonal skills.
• Strong computer skills including medical based programs.
• Proficiency with Word, Excel, and other software programs preferred.
• Over three years related health care experience including working with third party payers preferred.
• CHAM or CHAA encouraged.
• Must be vaccinated against influenza and COVID-19 or eligible for exemption.

Responsibilities

• Handle patient registration, insurance verification, pre-registration and point of service collections.
• Educate patients on financial responsibilities and provide referrals where needed.
• Financial counseling referrals, Medicare compliance, valuables management and morgue coordination.
• Collaborate with clinical and revenue cycle teams; ensure regulatory compliance.
• Provide on-site coverage at public arrival desks and the Emergency Department.

We are searching for a talented Revenue Cycle Specialist Front-End

*$8,000 new hire sign-on bonus for this position. (rehires termed more than 1 year also eligible)

Hours: 32hrs

Shift: Evening/Night shift, 3:00pm - 11:30pm with weekend and holiday rotation

Location: St. Luke's Hospital - New Bedford, MA; must be able to go to all sites if needed.

Responsibilities

Under the general supervision of the Team Leader, the Front-End Revenue Cycle Specialist handles patient registration, Insurance verification, pre-registration, and point of service collections. They ensure accurate patient data, educate patients on financial responsibilities. Additional responsibilities include financial counseling referrals, Medicare compliance (IM and MOON forms), valuables management, and morgue coordination. The role also involves customer service, regulatory compliance and collaboration with clinical and revenue cycle teams. This position is required to provide on-site coverage at public arrival desks and the Emergency Department.

Qualifications

• Equal to completion of four years of high school plus additional courses or training required; Associate's Degree preferred.
• Medical Terminology Certificate preferred.
• Demonstrated excellent communication & interpersonal skills.
• Strong computer skills including medical based programs.
• Proficiency with Word, Excel, and other software programs preferred.
• Over three years related health care experience including working with third party payers preferred.
• CHAM (Certified Healthcare Access Manage) or CHAA (Certified Healthcare Access Associate) encouraged.
• Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and the COVID 19 virus or to be exempt from the requirement for medical or personal reasons by signing a statement certifying you are choosing to be exempt from vaccination once hired

Compensation: Pay rate will be determined based on level of experience.

Pay Range

USD $17.86 - USD $28.76 /Hr.
