Job summary

Western Missouri Medical Center is seeking a detail-oriented billing specialist to drive projects until balances become self-pay or zero balance. You will trend claim denials, communicate findings to the supervisor, and work identified trends as directed.

Responsibilities also include handling inquiries from patients, processing data per hospital policy, and maintaining accuracy under deadlines. A high school diploma and MO or KS residency are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to communicate with various insurance payers.
• Current residency in the state of Missouri or Kansas is required.
• Must be self-motivated and have the ability to work within the established policies, procedures and practices prescribed by the hospital/clinic.

Responsibilities

• Meet productivity standards as outlined.
• Trend claim denials, advises supervisor of trends in order to improve processes with the department.
• Work identified trends as a project by following the given direction.
• Handle inquiries from patients/customers as needed after identification has been verified.
• Process data in accordance with company policies and confidentiality standards.
• Identify and correct errors in data entry.
• Assist co-workers as needed/requested.
• Communicate discrepancies or system issues to supervisor.
• Maintain a positive rapport with all customers.
• Appropriately handles telephone and email communications.
• Support the Medical Center’s Mission/Vision/Philosophy positively.
• Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
• Perform other essential duties as assigned.
