Job summary

The University of Chicago BSD UCP Revenue Cycle team is seeking a Clinical Revenue Supervisor to provide professional support and manage activities related to charging, billing, and collections across hospital outpatient clinics.

You will lead AR follow-up, denial resolution, and payer communications, ensuring accurate submission, timely collections, and adherence to regulatory standards while coordinating with clinical departments and external vendors.

Responsibilities

• Oversees the AR follow-up and denial resolution process with minimal direct oversight.
• Proactively reviews current workflows for AR resolution to improve efficiency.
• Identifies and resolves root causes of denials and outstanding AR.
• Oversees AR follow-up work queues and proposes enhancements.
• Assists manager with payer scorecards and agendas.
• Works with payers on escalated account resolution.
• Creates simple to moderately-complex reports for payor projects.
• Reviews payer communications and implements policy/rule changes.
• Communicates with UCPG units, clinical departments, external vendors, and payers.
• Provides AR follow-up training to staff.
• Completes quality audits for denial and AR resolution activities.
• Develops denial templates and trains staff.
• Creates workflows and documents policies and procedures.
• Provides support to AR issues for UCPG and external entities.
• Performs root cause analysis of AR issues and implements solutions.
• Provides direct support to AR resolution to identify trends.
• Assists manager in monitoring and trending AR and denials.
