Inova Health System is seeking a dedicated Revenue Cycle Analyst to join our team on a full-time, hybrid schedule. You will independently investigate claims and coding issues, analyze data to identify trends, and support resolution with data-backed recommendations.

The role emphasizes building dashboards, communicating findings, and collaborating with Revenue Cycle Associates to improve financial outcomes. A 2-year related experience minimum is required along with relevant education.

Qualifications

• Experience - 2 years in Revenue Cycle, Finance, Healthcare IT, Healthcare Analytics, Healthcare Operations or related field.
• Education as listed: Bachelor's, Associate + 2 years, or HS + 4 years in related fields.

Responsabilités

• Investigate and resolve moderately complex claims, payment discrepancies, denials, underpayments, or workflow issues across Revenue Cycle functions.
• Analyze account- and population-level data to quantify financial exposure and identify root causes.
• Interpret payer policies, plan requirements, claim edits, remittance information, and contract provisions to support resolution.
• Determine whether issues are driven by internal processes, documentation, coding gaps, technology, payer behavior, or contract ambiguity; recommend actions.
• Build and maintain recurring reports, logs, scorecards, or dashboards tracking dollars at risk, aging, recoveries, trends, and resolutions.

Job Responsibilities:

• Independently investigates and resolves moderately complex claims, payment discrepancies, denials, underpayments, retractions, or workflow issues across one or more Revenue Cycle functions.
• Analyzes account- and population-level data to quantify financial exposure, identify patterns, validate root cause, and distinguish isolated errors from systemic issues.
• Interprets payer policies, plan requirements, claim edits, remittance information, and applicable contract provisions to support resolution and escalation.
• Determines whether an issue is driven by internal process, documentation or coding gaps, technology configuration, payer behavior, or contract ambiguity and recommend next actions.
• Builds and maintains recurring reports, issue logs, scorecards, or dashboards that track dollars at risk, aging, recoveries, trends, and resolution status.
• Translates root cause findings into workflow, education, system, or automation requirements and participate in testing and implementation.
• Provides peer support, knowledge sharing, and task guidance to Revenue Cycle Associates.
• Leverages advanced analytic tools to identify trends, root cause analysis and prioritize work
• Monitors implemented solutions to validate resolution, quantify financial or operational impact.
• Supports revenue cycle ad-hoc projects.
• May perform other duties as assigned.

Additional Requirements

• Experience - 2 years of experience in Revenue Cycle, Finance, Healthcare IT, Healthcare Analytics, Healthcare Operations or relevant experience
• Education - Bachelor's degree; or Associate degree and 2 years relevant professional experience in addition to the minimum Experience requirement; or HS Diploma/GED and 4 years relevant professional experience in addition to the minimum Experience requirement.
