Job summary

Norton Healthcare is seeking an experienced hospital coder to join its remote coding team. The ideal candidate will accurately code and abstract inpatient and outpatient encounters, with strong CPT coding knowledge and familiarity with EPIC Billing.

The role requires expertise in National Correct Coding Initiative edits and the ability to correct charges in the EPIC AR module, while adhering to department policies and procedures. Remote work is offered to eligible candidates in specified states.

Qualifications

• One year hospital coding in healthcare setting.
• Must hold one of the listed coding certifications (CCA, CCS, CIC-ICD, COC, CPC, RHIA, RHIT).

Responsibilities

• Code and abstract clinic/emergency department/same day surgery/23-hour observations accurately and timely.
• Apply National Correct Coding Initiative edits.
• Correct charges in EPIC Billing and Accounts Receivable module.
• Follow established policies and procedures for coding and of the department.

Extensive knowledge in laboratory, radiology and medicine CPT codes. Must be very knowledgeable in the application of National Correct Coding Initiative edits as well as procedures for correcting charges in EPIC Billing and Accounts Receivable module. Follow the established policies and procedures for coding and of the department.
