Job summary

Norton Healthcare, Inc. is seeking a hospital coder to accurately code and abstract clinic, emergency department, same-day surgery, and 23-hour observation encounters.

You will apply CPT codes across laboratory, radiology, and medicine, and navigate National Correct Coding Initiative edits within EPIC Billing and AR modules. This role offers a fully remote opportunity for candidates residing in KY, IN, MO, OH, TN, AL, VA, MS, NC, SC or other eligible states.

Qualifications

• One year hospital coding in healthcare setting.
• Credential required: CCA/CCS/CIC-ICD/COC/CPC/RHIA/RHIT.
• Experience with EPIC Billing and AR module preferred.

Responsibilities

Accurately code and abstract all clinic/emergency department/same day surgery/ 23-hour observations in a consistent, accurate and timely manner. Extensive knowledge in laboratory, radiology and medicine CPT codes. Must be very knowledgeable in the application of National Correct Coding Initiative edits as well as procedures for correcting charges in EPIC Billing and Accounts Receivable module. Follow the established policies and procedures for coding and of the department.
