Job summary

Relay is seeking a Summer Intern in Raleigh to join our Revenue Accounting team. You will gain hands-on exposure to ASC 606 compliance, deferred revenue analysis, and the order-to-cash cycle while collaborating with Sales, Legal, and Customer Success.

You’ll own a project from kickoff to presentation, with mentors guiding your growth. The internship emphasizes real ownership, structured learning, and an end-of-summer Intern Showcase where you share your findings with the company.

Qualifications

• Accounting major entering final year (rising senior) or a recent grad who will begin a Master's in Accounting program in the fall following the internship.
• Comfortable working in Excel
• Experience or interest in using AI tools for data analysis
• Attention to detail and a solution-oriented mindset
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Curious, self-motivated, and comfortable asking questions
• Exposure to ASC 606 accounting standards is preferred

Responsibilities

• Work directly with the Revenue Accounting team on ASC 606 compliance and month-end close processes
• Review sales orders, customer contracts, and invoices under ASC 606 guidance
• Support redesign of internal revenue reporting with cross-functional partners
• Collaborate with Sales, Customer Success, and Legal on contract and order questions
• Lead a defined project to automate a recurring revenue accounting process or create training materials
• Present project findings at Intern Showcase
• Support the broader Accounting team on ad hoc requests
