Job summary

Relay, the Intelligent System of Action for the physical economy, invites you to join the FP&A internship in Raleigh, NC. You’ll support planning, forecasting, and reporting as Relay scales toward a potential IPO, reporting to the FP&A Manager and collaborating with senior leaders.

You’ll partner with business leaders, help run the annual operating plan, automate data flows with AI, build analyses for the executive team, and assemble board and lender materials.

Qualifications

• Internship in a rigorous, analytically demanding environment.
• Direct FP&A or strategic finance experience a plus.
• Exposure to a B2B SaaS, software, or hardware company a plus.
• Strong Excel/Google Sheets financial modeling skills.
• Ability to translate numbers into a clear story for executives.
• Fluency with modern AI tooling for automation and analysis.

Responsibilities

• Partner with business leaders on decisions that matter.
• Drive the planning process for the annual operating plan (AOP) and long-range plan.
• Build, transform, and automate with AI to improve reporting and forecasting.
• Create analyses and recommendations for senior leadership and the CEO/CFO.
• Prepare board, investor, and lender materials and data rooms.
• Define and track KPI dashboards and trustworthy BI across the team.
• Extend the financial model with driver-based components and scenario layers.
• Support OpEx planning and cross-functional budgeting as the company scales.
• Run monthly close support and ensure timely variance reporting.
