Job summary

BJ’s Wholesale Club in Portsmouth, VA is hiring a Warehouse Associate to support damaged/returned merchandise processing, inventory control and safe, efficient store operations.

You will handle salvage and vendor returns, wrap sellable items, and work in a fast-paced team focused on accuracy, speed, and member satisfaction.

This role requires attention to policy, safety walkthroughs, and collaboration with the AP and Inventory teams to ensure stock integrity and timely processing.

Qualifications

• Must successfully complete required training and certification processes.
• Effective communication, interpersonal, and computer skills.
• At least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Works with speed and accuracy to facilitate organized processes.
• Obtains return authorizations from vendors, processes vendor chargebacks, and packages and ships merchandise returns.
• Maintains the correct stock / inventory status for all damaged, defective and returned merchandise.
• Assesses breakage logs and processes damaged merchandise.
• Understands community / donation programs and administers salvage and donation merchandise orders.
• Conduct daily club safety walks and escalate findings to the supervisor.
• Supports Inventory Control Count Team in executing count processing.
• Reviews daily return reports and processes recalls and returns.
• Ensures books are stocked and book returns are completed.
• Re-wraps sellable merchandise using seal and shrink-wrap packaging guidelines.
• Maintains department organization and cleanliness; follows safety standards.
• Performs other duties as assigned; includes working in other departments as needed.
• Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of this job.
