Job summary

Lowe’s in the United States is hiring a Back-End Clerk to support the Receiving Office, process returns, and manage inventory flows. You will handle RTV/RTM, coordinate credits or replacements, and ensure accurate records and proper stocking across sales floors and backrooms.

The role includes assisting with receiving, updating systems, and maintaining safe, organized work areas. Prior warehouse or retail return experience is valued.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 1 year of experience processing and filing merchandise receiving paperwork.
• 1 year of experience with store inventory receiving and administration.
• 6 months of experience in warehouse data entry/bookkeeping.
• 6 months of experience communicating with vendors or customers regarding returns, payments, or contract fulfillment.
• 6 months of retail experience accepting or processing returns.

Responsibilities

• Process customer returns per company policies and procedures.
• Execute RTV and RTM processes with documentation, packaging, and shipment prep.
• Coordinate vendor credits and replacements per guidelines.
• Sort and disposition returned merchandise by condition and policy.
• Maintain accurate records of all return transactions and documentation.
• Assist with receiving shipments and verify merchandise against shipping docs.
• Process receiving paperwork and update inventory systems accurately.
• Ensure merchandise is labeled, stored, and routed appropriately.
• Support inventory accuracy through routine checks and report discrepancies.
• Generate and review standard reports related to returns, damaged goods, and inventory exceptions.
• Coordinate with receiving and store teams for efficient product flow.
• Maintain backroom and return area organization.
• Follow safety procedures for material handling and hazardous items.
• Provide basic support for customer return inquiries when needed.
• Communicate with vendors or manufacturers to facilitate returns, credits, or replacements.
• This role supports administrative and logistical functions within the Receiving Office, including record retention and PO processing.
• May be assigned additional duties as needed.
