Job summary

BJ’s Wholesale Club is seeking an RTV Clerk (Part Time) in Ithaca, NY to support customer shopping experiences by processing damaged/defective merchandise and managing returns. The role emphasizes accurate inventory status, vendor interactions, and adhering to club policies.

Qualifications

• Must successfully complete required training and certification processes.
• Effective communication, interpersonal, and computer skills.
• At least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Processes damaged or defective merchandise and returns following salvage, donation, vendor return, reverse logistic, hazardous waste and destroy procedures.
• Obtains return authorizations from vendors, processes vendor chargebacks, and packs/shrinks merchandise returns per vendor policies.
• Maintains correct stock/inventory status for all damaged, defective and returned merchandise.
• Assesses breakage logs and processes damaged items; handles freezer and dairy damages.
• Participates in community/donation programs; administers salvage and donation orders.
• Conducts daily club safety walks and escalates findings to Asset Protection Supervisor.
• Supports Inventory Control Count Team in counting processes.
• Reviews daily return reports; processes recalls and tire/battery returns.
• Ensures AFS release dates are followed and book returns are completed with AP.
• Re-wraps sellable merchandise with appropriate seal and shrink-wrap packaging.
• Maintains department organization and adheres to safety, filing, and lock-up standards.
• Performs other duties and maintains a safe, positive environment.
