Job summary

Datavant is seeking a Director of Retrieval Operations – Inventory Strategy to translate client demand into actionable inventory plans across channels, vendors, and teams. You will own forecasting, prioritization, routing, allocation, pacing, and governance for Payer Retrieval Operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent experience.
• Eight+ years of progressive operations/inventory planning experience, with leadership.
• Experience translating forecasts into production and capacity plans in a high-volume environment.
• Ability to identify risks, develop recovery plans, and drive governance.
• Strong financial and analytical capabilities, evaluating productivity, yield, and costs.
• Experience collaborating with Product and Engineering on operational tech and AI-enabled workflows.
• Excellent executive communication and ability to translate complex analysis into actions.
• Proficiency with spreadsheets, BI tools, forecasting, or planning software; SQL is a plus.
• Healthcare operations, medical-record retrieval, payer operations, or similar complex service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own the inventory strategy and planning framework for Payer Retrieval, translating client demand, milestones, and targets into weekly and daily plans.
• Establish forecasting, segmentation, and prioritization strategies based on client commitments, chart density, yield, service levels, and cost.
• Own routing framework for inventory across retrieval channels based on provider behavior, capacity, cost, and quality.
• Evaluate channel performance and adjust distribution to reduce delays and manual intervention.
• Monitor performance against commitments and develop recovery plans for at-risk inventory.
• Use scenario planning to assess demand, capacity, and priority changes and provide data-driven recommendations.
• Collaborate with Workforce Management to align inventory with staffing and capacity plans.
• Support annual planning, budgeting, and forecasting linking demand, capacity, and financial targets.
• Establish KPIs, dashboards, and governance for inventory health, forecasting accuracy, and cost.
• Partner with BI/Analytics to deliver actionable reporting and insights for leadership.
• Work with Product/Engineering to refine prioritization and routing logic and define success metrics.
• Collaborate with Call Center leadership on segmentation between human calls and Voice AI.
• Identify automation opportunities to reduce manual effort and improve flow.
• Lead, coach, and develop the Inventory Strategy team and advise senior leadership.
