Job summary

Purcell Tire & Rubber Company in Salt Lake City, UT is seeking a full-time Retread Technician to support the production of high-quality retreads. You will perform specific retreading tasks per company specifications, standards, and timeframes.

Starting pay is $18 per hour with a monthly production bonus, paid training, and comprehensive benefits. Candidates must pass a background and drug screen and be able to lift and work both independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications

• Ability to pass a background & drug screen.
• Ability to work both independently and as a team.
• Ability to lift, push, and/or pull heavy objects.

Responsibilities

• Inspect tires to be retreaded or repaired.
• Work plant station to repair and/or retread tires per specification.
• Safely operate equipment to buff, skive, repair, envelope, and cure tires.
• Safely trim, paint, and tag finished tires.
• Make final tire repair inspection and place with finished stock.
• Ensure work order completion: proper work, and identification.
• Maintain equipment in good operating condition.
• Maintain a clean working environment.
• Follow all OSHA and company safety protocols.
• Protect company assets (inventory, receivables, equip & real estate).
• Other essential and non-essential duties, as assigned by management.

DRUG TESTING

Purcell Tire tests for the presence of THC in all drug screenings for this position, due to the safety-sensitive nature of the job and the potential for injury or death when a tire is installed improperly, or a safety-related mechanical issue is not properly conveyed to a customer. It is a bona fide occupational qualification for service technicians to be unimpaired, so the Company will continue testing for THC and other drugs under the safety-sensitive exceptions allowed by your state.
