Job summary

Building Services 32BJ Benefit Funds in New York is seeking an Assistant Analyst in Retirement Services Operations to support pension administration for retired members across multiple plans. Under supervision, you will process transactions, determine eligibility, and ensure compliance with plan documents and the law.

You will perform data entry, prepare member communications, collaborate with analysts and CARE counselors, and participate in special projects.

Qualifications

• Experience in pension administration or similar financial processing.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in accounting or math.
• Ability to handle multiple pension plans with accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Calculate pension benefits for new retirees and estimated projected benefits.
• Analyze and process pension applications for completeness and accuracy; draft follow-up correspondence.
• Perform banking transactions including pension check stop/reissues and voids.
• Collaborate with third party vendors to collect data on deceased pensioners and process bank reclaims.
• Track pension overpayments on a plan-by-plan basis and enforce recoupment policies.
• Reinstate suspended pensioner accounts after validating documentation as per plan rules.
• Validate work history and prior service records to calculate pension service credits.
• Perform data entry and complete standardized written member communications.
• Assist Retirement Analysts and CARE Counselors with administrative and analytical pension calculations.
• Contribute to special projects as assigned by management.
