Job summary

First Bank & Trust is seeking an Operations Supervisor for Retirement Plan Services to lead a team of administrators and ensure accurate, timely, and compliant retirement plan administration. You will provide day-to-day leadership, oversee complex transactions, and ensure adherence to ERISA and IRS requirements.

The role emphasizes mentorship, process improvements, and collaboration with sponsors and internal teams to deliver superior client service.

Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree and six years of relevant experience, or equivalent.
• Advanced knowledge of ERISA, IRS, and Department of Labor requirements.
• Prior supervisory experience strongly preferred.
• Strong communication skills and proficiency with Excel, reporting tools, databases, and retirement recordkeeping systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead Retirement Plan Services Administrators and provide day-to-day leadership.
• Oversee daily retirement plan administration and recordkeeping activities.
• Provide technical guidance and quality review for complex transactions.
• Ensure compliance with ERISA, IRS, DOL, internal policy and plan documents.
• Coordinate Form 5500 preparation, tax reporting, participant notices, audits and related reporting.
• Develop, maintain, and improve department procedures, controls, documentation and training resources.
• Mentor staff; evaluate performance and motivate the team to perform effectively.
• Partner with internal teams, relationship managers, and plan sponsors to resolve issues and maintain service quality.
• Act in accordance with First Bank & Trust policies and procedures; complete required compliance training.
• Adhere to compliance procedures and participate in all required compliance training.
