Job summary

The City of New York seeks a full-time Associate Retirement Benefits Examiner/Member Services Associate in the Member Services Unit. Under supervision, you will help coordinate retirement seminars, register members, and prepare necessary paperwork for sessions and benefit processes.

You will also handle inquiries, assist with beneficiary and survivor benefits, and provide front desk support. Qualifications include a relevant bachelor’s degree and substantial experience in analytical,

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field with possible related work experience.
• Experience in financial matters, retirement or pension environments is preferred.
• Ability to perform analytical and administrative tasks, including customer service and compliance considerations.

Responsibilities

• Assist with coordination and conduct retirement seminars and related sessions.
• Present seminars and assist with registration and paperwork processing.
• Prepare seminar materials, notarization, and distribution of paperwork.
• Record communications via phone, email, in-person, and mail; support beneficiary forms and survivor benefits processing.
• Provide front desk coverage as directed.

Bachelor's degree in mathematics, statistics, accounting, economics, finance, data analytics, project management, business administration, public administration and/or actuarial science

Two years of satisfactory full-time experience in analytical/administrative/customer service within a financial institution, retirement system, or pension; or one year of mathematical/statistical/actuarial/ accounting computations in retirement/employee benefits

Associate degree or 60 semester credits with specified related experience

Four-year high school diploma with corresponding experience
