Chesapeake Retina Centers is a well-established, physician-owned private retina practice serving Southern Maryland and the Annapolis region. Founded more than 20 years ago, this thriving practice has three primary offices and one satellite location.
Our founding physician remains actively practicing, and our second retina specialist has been with the practice for 12 years. Due to continued growth and a strong influx of new patients, we are seeking a third Retina specialist. We prefer surgical but are willing to consider medical retina applicants.
We believe physician autonomy is one of the greatest advantages of private practice. Chesapeake Retina Centers is independently owned, with no private-equity involvement. Physicians have the freedom to practice medicine as they believe is best for themselves and their patients while benefiting from the support, infrastructure, and established referral network of a successful retina practice.
The incoming physician will have significant autonomy in shaping their practice. We are looking for someone mature and motivated to do what they need to succeed. Our goal is to provide the resources and support necessary to help the new physician develop a successful career. We believe that maximizing the new doctor’s chance of success benefits all of us.
Our small size allows the new doctor to assume a larger role in running the practice and facilitates communication with the other doctors. The new doctor will be welcomed and treated respectfully as a colleague not as a junior or a number. The new doctor will not be given the worst calls or cases.
The practice offers modern diagnostic and treatment equipment as well as being Apple computer-based. The practice participates in clinical trials, which the new doctor may join.
Partnership is available after two years. Physicians can decline partnership and choose to remain employees.
Compensation and production bonus plus benefits are comparable to other area retina practices. We are flexible negotiating and have the philosophy that if the new doctor is satisfied with compensation they will be more productive for themselves and the practice.
The new doctor will benefit professionally from a large patient population and referral network while personally enjoying the benefits of living in the Washington, DC-Annapolis region.
We will be interviewing candidates during the AAO Annual Meeting.
