Job summary

Carolinamacular is seeking an experienced ophthalmic technician for a full-time, in-person role in Mount Pleasant, SC. You will perform patient workups, assist with imaging, and support intravitreal procedures while developing advanced clinical skills in a fast-paced retina practice.

The position offers competitive pay ($20–$25/hour) with potential raises up to $8/hour based on education and performance, and a benefits package including health, dental, vision, and paid time off.

Qualifications

• 1+ year experience as ophthalmic/optometric technician preferred.
• Familiarity with OCT and fluorescein angiography preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask.
• Willingness to learn and develop additional clinical skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient workups including visual acuity, IOP, patient history, and medication review.
• Scribe in EMR during patient visits.
• Assist with OCT and diagnostic imaging.
• Assist the physician with intravitreal injections, lasers, and minor procedures.
• Support patient flow and ensure a smooth clinic experience.
• Cross-train in insurance authorization or front desk support when needed.
