Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Team Member to act as a point of contact for customers, stock and merchandise displays, operate cash registers, and maintain a clean store. Responsibilities include assisting customers, following merchandising guidelines, and supporting the Store Manager to maximize store profitability and customer satisfaction.

The role requires basic cash handling, good math skills, and ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as diagrams, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures manuals.
• Effective interpersonal and oral communication skills.
• Ability to read and follow planogram and merchandise presentation guides.
• Knowledge of basic cash handling procedures.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Ability to perform cash register functions.
• Ability to stock and display merchandise.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service to exceed the customer’s expectations.
• Possess product knowledge and use selling techniques to enhance the customer experience.
• Maintain a safe, clean and well-organized store environment that delights customers.
• Assist in merchandising the store according to guidelines to drive sales.
• Rotate product to create eye-catching displays and drive sales.
• Complete daily and weekly cleaning responsibilities for a superior shopping experience.
• Follow SOPs and Employee Handbook in daily operations.
• Operate cash register(s) and scanners to total purchases and handle payments.
• Assist customers in self-checkout at multiple terminals.
• Unpack, stock, restock and rotate merchandise on shelves and displays.
• Keep store clean and organized, including trash, floors, restrooms, and receiving area.
