Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Team Member to serve as the frontline contact for customers in a fast-paced store environment. You will stock, merchandise, clean, operate the cash register, and support store profitability while protecting company assets.

Responsibilities include helping customers at self-checkout, following merchandising guidelines, and maintaining a safe, orderly shopping space. High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as diagrams, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures manuals.
• Effective interpersonal and oral communication skills.
• Ability to read and follow planogram and merchandise presentation guides.
• Knowledge of basic cash handling procedures.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Ability to perform cash register functions.
• Ability to stock and display merchandise.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service to exceed the customer's expectations.
• Stock and merchandise displays to create eye-catching layouts.
• Operate cash register(s) and scanner, total purchases, collect payment, and bag merchandise.
• Assist customers at self-checkout at multiple registers.
• Rotate and replenish merchandise according to guidelines to drive sales.
• Clean and maintain a neat, safe, and organized store environment.
