Job summary

Alabama Goodwill Industries in Birmingham is seeking a Retail Team Member to support daily store operations, deliver world-class customer service, stock shelves, process markdowns, rotate and display merchandise, and handle essential cash register duties.

You will maintain a clean, safe workspace, follow PCI standards, participate in training, and work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays. Prior retail or cashier experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Prior retail or cashier experience preferred.
• Able to use a cash register, calculator, and credit card processing machine accurately.
• Able to demonstrate good judgment in recognizing items appropriate for sale.
• Able to maintain a positive, friendly attitude and a neat, clean appearance.
• Able to follow instructions and comply with policies and procedures.
• Able to listen to and understand information presented through spoken words.

Responsibilities

• Provide world-class customer service on the sales floor.
• Stock shelves and rotate merchandise, including hardline and softline items.
• Handle essential cash register operations and process transactions accurately.
• Greet customers promptly and maintain a welcoming store environment.
• Ensure store cleanliness, safety, and organization; follow safety and PCI standards.
• Assist with markdowns and visual merchandising to promote shop-ability.
