Job summary

Dollar Tree Stores in Pontiac, IL is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service and team development. Duties include assisting with daily store activities, supervising associates, and ensuring a safe, friendly shopping environment.

Qualifications

• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 55 lbs and stand for long periods, frequent walking and bending.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns
• Assist in organizing and transferring merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed
• Process corporate directives related to store activities
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, and cash handling
• Maintain a clean, well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines and supervise associates
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and staff
• Ensure store cleanliness including bathrooms, floors, trash, and neat presentation
• Other duties as assigned*
