Job summary

Family Dollar in Corinth, MS is seeking a part-time associate to support store functions and deliver friendly, helpful service to customers. You will assist with daily tasks, move merchandise, open and close the store, and follow corporate directives.

The role requires reading and applying operational directives, the ability to lift up to 55 lbs, and strong communication and teamwork. You will help train fellow associates and maintain clean, well-stocked aisles and a safe environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives is required.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 55 lbs and frequent walking, standing, and lifting activities.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills are required.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Move merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and related communications.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll records, scheduling, and cash deposits/receipts.
• Keep store areas well-stocked and organized to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to safety guidelines and company policies; ensure associates follow procedures.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Maintain cleanliness, restrooms, floors, and overall store presentation.
• Other duties as assigned.
