Job summary

Family Dollar in Charleston, MS is seeking a part-time associate to deliver excellent customer service, assist with merchandise selection, and process sales at the POS. You will help manage inventory, support deliveries and replenishment, and keep the store clean and presentable. In the absence of management, you may open or close and guide staff on procedures.

The role emphasizes accuracy in cash handling, teamwork, and a positive store image within the community.

Qualifications

• Education: high school diploma or equivalent or better.
• Retail or customer service experience preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs (up to 55 lbs occasionally) and stand/walk for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers, assist with merchandise selection, and complete sales transactions.
• Open or close the store in absence of management and support store operations.
• Maintain inventory levels, assist deliveries and replenishment, and ensure store cleanliness.
• Provide guidance to team members on operating practices and procedures.
• Handle cash and deposits accurately using the POS system.
