Job summary

Dollar General Corporation in Warren, Ohio is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help maintain a clean, customer-first store. Under the Store Manager’s direction, you will supervise staff, manage merchandise presentation, and help with deposits while protecting assets.

Responsibilities include opening/closing the store, scheduling and training employees, maintaining accurate inventory, enforcing policies, and ensuring cashier accountability.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment and six months supervisory experience preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service leadership; greet and assist customers, operate POS and scanner.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist with scheduling employees, providing training, safety meetings, and policy compliance.
• Follow processes to manage merchandise receiving, stocking, restocking and displaying.
• Maintain inventory accuracy by controlling damages, markdowns, scanning, paperwork, and facility controls.
• Assist with planograms; ensure merchandise is presented per established practices and direction.
• Ensure cashier integrity; payroll-like controls, deposits and refunds handling; count tills.
• Assist with store management in Store Manager's absence.
