Job summary

Family Dollar in Idabel, OK seeks an Assistant Store Manager to support daily operations, customer service, and team development. The role includes merchandise flow, opening/closing tasks, and ensuring seasonal areas meet standards.

Responsibilities cover staff training, supervision, loss prevention, inventory control, and creating a clean, safe, and welcoming store environment for customers and associates.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Retail store management experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns they may have
• Assist in organizing and transferring merchandise from delivery to stockroom and sales floor
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of store-front fixtures and displays
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record-keeping (including payroll, scheduling, and cash handling) and loss prevention
• Maintain a well-stocked store and organized stockroom to company standards
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines and ensure staff follow procedures
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and staff
• Keep the store clean, restocked, and presentable; manage bathrooms and floors
• Other duties as assigned
