Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an Assistant Store Manager in the United States to help run a clean, customer-first store. You will work under the Store Manager to supervise staff, present merchandise, and handle deposits and paperwork.

The role involves stocking, cashiering, and ensuring store profitability while protecting company assets. Prior retail supervisory experience is preferred and a strong focus on customer satisfaction is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• Experience in retail with supervisory responsibilities is a plus.
• Ability to greet customers and manage transactions accurately.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist customers, operate cash register, and itemize purchases.
• Open and close the store at least two days per week.
• Assist with scheduling, training, and safety meetings for staff.
• Manage merchandise flow: receiving, stocking, restocking and displays.
• Maintain inventory accuracy; control damages, markdowns, and paperwork.
• Support cashier integrity including deposits and refunds under supervision.
• Assist in store operations in the Store Manager's absence.
