Job summary

Work World in Salinas, CA is seeking a part-time Retail Store Shift Lead to support daily store operations and deliver exceptional customer service. This role requires leadership, strong communication, and attention to detail within a fast-paced retail environment.

You will oversee opening/closing, assist customers in person and by phone, and ensure merchandise is well-presented and stocked. Prior supervisory experience is a plus and a valid driver’s license is preferred.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of retail or customer service experience.
• Leadership or supervisory experience is a plus.
• Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Basic math and accuracy in transactions.
• Able to lift 25 pounds, climb ladders, and stand long periods.
• Valid driver's license; bilingual skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide customers with accurate information about store products and available services.
• Support customer inquiries and requests both in person and by phone.
• Handle daily store opening and closing procedures.
• Oversee and coordinate sales floor activities to ensure efficient operations.
• Welcome customers and deliver courteous, professional assistance.
• Keep the sales floor, stock areas, and displays clean and well-organized at all times.
• Process customer purchases accurately, including payments and receipt issuance.
• Monitor stock levels and replenish merchandise as necessary.
• Carry out additional responsibilities assigned by store management.
