Job summary

The Salvation Army Thrift Store in Des Moines is seeking a part-time Retail Store Processor to sort, tag, and price donated merchandise and help maintain stock levels.

You will assist with loading and unloading donations, interact with donors, and work as part of a team to meet daily production goals while providing friendly service. This role offers flexible scheduling and on-site support.

Qualifications

• Must be able to process donated merchandise.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Basic communication and teamwork skills.
• Basic math and computer skills.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Ability to stand and walk for most of the shift.
• High school diploma or currently pursuing.

Responsibilities

• Sort, tag, and price merchandise.
• Help track and report production numbers.
• Move processed merchandise to sales floor.
• Provide friendly, helpful service to donors.
• Receive trucks and assist to load, unload and move product to the correct departments.
• Maintain clean work and storage spaces.
• Work together with team members to meet daily production goals for merchandise processing and store stock.

Location: Des Moines, IA
Pay: $12.00 per hour
Job Type: Part-time
Schedule: 25 hours per week. Flexible scheduling required. Monday - Saturday days, evenings, weekends

About the Role

At The Salvation Army Thrift Store, your work helps turn donations into funding for programs that support people in our community. We are looking for a motivated, dependable Retail Store Processor to process and prepare donated goods, keep the store organized, and help meet production goals.

What You’ll Do

• Sort, tag, and price merchandise
• Help track and report production numbers
• Move processed merchandise to sales floor
• Provide friendly, helpful service to donors
• Receive trucks and assists to load, unload and move product to the correct departments
• Maintain clean work and storage spaces
• Work together with team members to meet daily production goals for merchandise processing and store stock
