Job summary

The Salvation Army Thrift Store in Ames, IA is seeking a part-time Retail Store Processor to sort, tag, price merchandise, and help meet production goals while turning donations into funding for community programs.

You’ll track production numbers, move processed goods to the sales floor, provide friendly service to donors, and support a clean, organized store. Paid training and on-the-job coaching are provided, with a flexible schedule including weekends.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or currently pursuing.
• Ability to stand and walk for most of the shift.
• Basic math and computer skills.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Ability to communicate effectively and work well in a team.
• Previous retail or thrift store experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Schedule: 25 hours per week, Monday - Saturday, Flexible scheduling required

About the Role

At The Salvation Army Thrift Store, your work helps turn donations into funding for programs that support people in our community. We are looking for a motivated, dependable Retail Store Processor to process and prepare donated goods, keep the store organized, and help meet production goals.

What You’ll Do

• Sort, tag, and price merchandise
• Help track and report production numbers
• Move processed merchandise to sales floor
• Provide friendly, helpful service to donors
• Receive trucks and assists to load, unload and move product to the correct departments
• Maintain clean work and storage spaces
• Work together with team members to meet daily production goals for merchandise processing and store stock
