Job summary

Family Dollar in Omaha, NE is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support daily store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with opening/closing, supervise associates, and ensure merchandise is properly stocked and displayed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and perform physical tasks (standing, walking, bending, climbing).
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Assist in organizing merchandise transfers from delivery to stockroom to sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and information requests related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional displays and storefront fixtures.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping (including payroll, scheduling, cash deposits).
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom per company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines and ensure adherence by associates.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Keep store clean including bathrooms, floors, trash removal, and overall neatness.
• Other duties as assigned.
