Job summary

Family Dollar in Las Animas, Colorado is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help run daily store operations, support customer service, and develop the team on shift.

You will supervise store associates, oversee opening/closing procedures, and ensure efficient merchandise flow from delivery to floor while adhering to policies and maintaining a safe, welcoming environment for customers and staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and perform physical duties in a retail setting.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom and sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays for effectiveness.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, process damaged merchandise, record keeping including payroll and cash handling, and loss prevention.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure store assets including cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines; supervise and develop Store Associates.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and staff.
