Job summary

Ross Stores, Inc. invites applications for an Assistant Store Manager to lead daily operations, supervise associates, and uphold our standards for service, merchandising and teamwork across the store floor, fitting rooms, and registers.

You will analyze store performance, manage scheduling and payroll related tasks, ensure safety and regulatory compliance, and step in for the Store Manager as needed to maintain seamless operations and a customer‑focused environment.

Qualifications

• Two or more years of Store or Assistant Store Manager experience in a retail environment.
• Ability to supervise, motivate and communicate positively to Store Associates at all levels.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize, and follow through to completion.
• Maintain high-quality Customer service.
• Fluency in English.
• Ability to work evenings and weekends.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the management and supervision of all areas assigned by the Store Manager.
• Lead the operation in the Store in the Store Manager’s absence.
• Analyze store reports and manage controllable expenses.
• Schedule Associates to meet business objectives.
• Recruiting, hiring, training, and developing non-exempt Associates.
• Maintain a safe and secure environment and ensure compliance with regulations.
• Provide customer service and supervise staff at registers, fitting rooms, etc.
