Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a results-driven Store Manager to lead a busy retail team in Bridger, MT. You will oversee staffing, training, and performance, ensuring adherence to policies and safety standards.

Responsibilities include controlling inventory, scheduling, and implementing store processes. You will analyze sales trends, manage stock levels, and maintain a high standard of customer service while protecting assets.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret diagrams, safety rules, operating instructions, and procedures manuals.
• Ability to perform basic math calculations including percentages.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposits.
• Ability to operate cash registers and generate reports.
• Knowledge of inventory management and merchandising practices.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Effective interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of recruiting, interviewing, hiring, counseling and termination practices including legal compliance.
• Knowledge of cash, facility and safety control policies and practices (deposits, store keys, etc.)
• Good organization skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to solve problems and deal with a variety of situations.

Responsibilities

• Recruits, selects, and retains employees according to laws and policies; ensure store is staffed.
• Provides training, conducts evaluations, and counsels on performance.
• Makes recommendations on pay rate and advancement.
• Communicates performance, conduct and safety expectations; coordinates meetings.
• Ensures store opens/closes as scheduled and stays staffed.
• Evaluates operating statements for trends and opportunities.
• Manages stock orders and inventory checks weekly.
• Facilitates staging, stocking, and storage of merchandise.
• Maintains presentation, pricing, and signage of merchandise.
• Maintains accurate inventory by controlling damages and shrink.
• Ensures cash control and security procedures are followed.
• Provides superior customer service leadership.
• Keeps store clean, safe, and well-organized.
• Ensures tools and equipment are available for tasks.
• Follows SOPs and company communications; ensures compliance.
• Completes all paperwork and documentation on time.
