Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager to oversee all store operations, including staffing, training, inventory, and customer service. The role focuses on maintaining store standards, ensuring security, and driving sales while managing daily opening/closing procedures.

Responsibilities include recruiting and evaluating staff, enforcing policies, and monitoring performance. The candidate will lead teams, handle cash controls, and uphold safety standards in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of management experience in a retail environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, select and retain qualified employees according to federal and state labor laws and company policies; ensure store is properly staffed.
• Provide training for employees; conduct performance evaluations; identify gaps and counsel or terminate as needed.
• Make recommendations regarding employee pay rate and advancement.
• Communicate performance, conduct and safety expectations; coordinate meetings and events.
• Ensure store is staffed and opened/closed each day.
• Open/close the store personally at least twice weekly.
• Evaluate operating statements for sales, profitability, shrink, and errors.
• Manage ordering and inventory; review stock plans and cycle counts.
• Ensure merchandise presentation and pricing according to standards.
• Maintain inventory levels; control damages and store cash procedures.
• Provide customer service leadership and maintain a safe store environment.
• Ensure proper tools and adherence to SOPs and paperwork deadlines.
