Job summary

Family Dollar in Marksville, LA is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development. You will help with daily store activities, assist customers, organize merchandise transfers from delivery to stockroom and sales floor, and support opening/closing procedures.

The role requires strong communication, customer service, and the ability to work in a high-energy team environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred and ability to read and explain operational directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical store duties.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required.
• Excellent customer service, organizational and problem-solving skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain fixtures and displays for promotional effectiveness.
• Assist in ordering, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping, and loss prevention.
• Maintain clean, well-stocked sales floor and stockroom.
• Protect store assets including cash and secure premises.
• Adhere to safety policies and supervise store associates as directed.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Maintain cleanliness including bathrooms, floors, trash, and overall neatness.
• Other duties as assigned.
