Job summary

Maurices is seeking a Manager in Training (MIT) to work with the store manager and team to reach sales goals and create a customer-focused environment. The MIT will participate in a structured training program designed to prepare for a Store Manager position within 3–6 months.

The role requires relocation to a new store or group of stores, active participation in all modules, and leadership of the team in customer service, operations, and talent development.

Qualifications

• High School Degree or GED required; merchandising degree preferred.
• Supervisory experience in a customer focused environment; fashion industry preferred.
• Proven track record of achieving and setting goals and executing company direction.
• Experience in hiring, promoting, and motivating talent.
• Lead by example, make sound decisions, and demonstrate professionalism.
• Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills.
• Diligence and perseverance in face of resistance or setbacks.
• Must commit to a specific store location or group of stores.

Responsibilities

• The MIT works with store manager to achieve sales goals and drive a customer focused environment.
• Participates in a training program to prepare for a Store Manager position within 3–6 months.
• Relocatable to a specific new store or a group of stores for training.
• Support store manager in hiring, performance management and coaching.
• Manage payroll hours to sustain profitability and balance workloads.
• Direct promotional changes and visual standards to maximize sales.
• Prepare schedules based on business needs and traffic patterns.
• Lead by example in customer service and store operations.
