Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a Store Manager Candidate to support the Store Manager in supervising staff, inventory, stocking and store operations, and to foster development for the Store Manager role on a limited term basis.

The candidate will assist in recruiting, merchandising, inventory controls, cashier accountability and store safety while participating in opening/closing duties and maintaining a compliant, customer-focused environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• Two or more years of experience in a leadership or managerial position.
• Two or more years of experience in a retail grocery store strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Support merchandising, staging, stocking and proper pricing per store direction.
• Help manage inventory, damages, markdowns and paperwork.
• Follow ordering practices to meet in-stock targets.
• Provide superior customer service leadership.
• Model company policies and SOPs in daily actions.
• Participate in store opening and closing activities.
• Ensure safe deposit of store funds and cashier accountability.
• Maintain clean, well-stocked stores and safe environment.
• Operate store in manager's absence and review financial statements for trends.
