Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager Candidate to support the Store Manager in daily operations, staffing, inventory, merchandising, and customer service. The role focuses on developing external candidates for the Store Manager position and will be limited in duration.

The incumbent will assist in recruiting, merchandising, inventory controls, and financial integrity while upholding company policies. Traveling may be required to other store locations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment preferred for external candidates.
• Knowledge of cash handling and store procedures.
• Some locations may prefer bilingual Spanish speakers.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assist with store merchandising by stocking and presenting merchandise as directed.
• Assist in inventory management, damages, markdowns, and paperwork.
• Follow ordering practices to meet in-stock targets.
• Provide customer service leadership and store safety.
• Operate store in the manager's absence and participate in opening/closing.
• Review operating statements for trends and opportunities.
• Complete all paperwork according to guidelines and deadlines.
